The 2025 GEMS Board of Trustees voting is now open! You may vote for no more than three (3) candidates. Below is the voting process:
  1. Only GEMS registered mobile numbers will be able to vote via USSD.
  2. Before you vote, please make sure you know the candidates you wish to vote for by studying the CV Booklet with the candidates’ biographies. Click here for the CV Booklet.
  3. Once you have decided on the three candidates you wish to vote for and know their candidate numbers, you may proceed to vote, by following the instructions below.
  4. Voting Procedure:
    1. Dial *134*7777#.
    2. The system will recognise your GEMS registered mobile number. The following will appear on your screen “Welcome to the GEMS 2025 Elections. Enter 1 to proceed to voting.” You need to: enter “1” and follow the prompts as follows:
      1. “Please enter your Unique Ballot Paper Number”. – Please comply.
      2. "Please enter your Membership Number” – Please comply.
    3. Once authenticated, the following will appear on your screen:
      1. “You may vote for 3 candidates only. There are 98 in total. Enter a candidate number to vote.” Enter the number of your preferred candidate.
      2. The following appears on your screen: Enter 1 to confirm your vote for candidate number XX, Name Surname. Enter zero (0) to go back to make a change.
      3. When you are happy with your choice, the following appears on your screen: Vote for candidate XX has been captured with reference number #XXXXXX. Ballot paper reference GEMSXX. Enter 1 to proceed to your next vote. Enter 0 to exit should you wish to vote for less than three candidates.
    4. The above process will run until your last vote.
    5. When you have finished voting for however many candidates you wished to vote for, the following will appear on your screen: “You have voted for candidates X, XX, XX. Thank you for voting. Your ballot paper reference is GEMSXX”. Please note the “X” denotes a number.
    6. Voting for less candidates will not spoil your ballot.
    7. For every vote you cast, you will receive a candidate reference number.
